It was a beautiful sunny day. My fellow Indian colleagues were celebrating Ponggal. So, we had our very own Ponggal at our office. The celebration started with preparing the pot, rice, ghee, cashew nuts, milk, raisins, brown sugar and of course stove for cooking the Ponggal sweet rice. Once everything was ready, started to cook the sweet rice. First of all, the milk, rice, ghee and brown sugar were added into the pot. We needed to wait until the rice boiled and poured out from the pot. Once the rice poured out we all said "Ponggolo Ponggal". For completing the process, the cashew nuts and raisins were added into the pot. Since this was my first time celebrating Ponggal, I was very happy and excited. It was a great experience indeed.
