St. Francis Xavier, Malacca

St. Francis Xavier is a Roman Catholic Church built in 1856. The white twin-spired neo-gothic church is located at Jalan Gereja, just behind the Christ Church. The church was built by a French priest in honor of St. Francis Xavier, the great missionary who arrived at Malacca to serve the sick and the children here. He is also known as the "Apostle of the East". The missionary was playing an important role in spreading Christianity in Asia.

St. Paul's Church
The beautiful ruins of St. Paul's Church are located at the summit of St. Paul's Hill. Along the way towards the hill, you can see people selling souvenirs, food and drinks and buskers playing musical instruments. The church is roofless and covered by ferns. There are few tombstones inside the ruins of the church. Even though the church has been in ruins for more than 150 years, it is still breathtakingly beautiful. The surrounding of the church is breezy. There is also a marble statue of the armless St. Francis Xavier near the entrance of the church. The statue was built in 1953 to commemorate the missionary. From the St. Paul's Hill, you can see the beautiful view of Melaka.

St. John's Cathedral

St. John's Cathedral is located at Bukit Nanas. Its is near St. John's Institution. It was opened in 1883, making it one of the oldest buildings in Kuala Lumpur. It is more than 100 years old. KL tower is just behind this whitewashed cathedral. I went to this cathedral for Sunday Mass. I was so lucky to be here. There were lots of people from different backgrounds attended Mass here. I wish I can come again in the future.

Be blessed everybody! God bless you!
