The Dutch Square is also known as Red Squared due to the presence of terracota-red painted buildings around the square. The main attractions at the square are the Stadhuys, Christ Church, Victorian Marble Fountain & Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower. The Square is a good starting point for touring the old part of Melaka town. The bus from Melaka Central usually will stop here. The square is always crowded with tourists relaxing and taking photos. The temperature is quite hot but windy at the same time. If you want to stroll around the square, it is better that you do it either in the morning or after 5 pm when the sun begins to set. My friend and I arrived at the square at around 11 am, but believe me it was freaking hot.
